Kids Are Great

Here's a List of the top 10 things I learned while shopping with each of my eldest 3 daughters, individually, for Christmas -- over the past few days:

• Emma wants to build a time machine so that she can travel back in history to each of the "American Girl times"
• Rachel believes it takes years to construct a mall, but only days to build a house
• Caroline's favorite foods are (in this order) : chicken nuggets, pizza (with monkeys and bows), spaghetti, and ketchup
• Any song is sung better by inserting a loud "Fiddler on the Roof" style HEY into it
• Deciding between Zoo Tycoon 2 and a stuffed horse to spend her birthday money and Target gift card is the hardest decision Emma has ever had to make
• Caroline can unfold half of the clothing stacked on tables at The Children's Place just in the time it takes me to look for a pair of booties in Eliza's size
• Rachel would like to wear high heels AS SOON AS POSSIBLE because they make her look more like a statue
• You can shop for your 3 year old while she's with you as long as she is holding $50 in Dora the Explorer, Winnie the Pooh, and/or Blue's Clues merchandise in her hands
• 3 year olds can keep secrets better than 6 year olds
• There is nothing more touching at this greedy time of year than watching your children unselfishly and carefully consider and think of their siblings -- wanting to find them the best present/surprise ever
